Page quarterback Cade Walker threw three touchdowns, and all-purpose star Michael Burdick scored two, lifting Page to a surprisingly easy 31-7 win over Summit.
Walker was 15 of 22 passing for 197 yards, with no interceptions. Burdick caught seven of those passes for 107 yards and a score.
The pair helped Page to a 14-point halftime lead, then, Walker’s 10-yard pass to Til Chesire, combined with Chase Tidmore’s 31-yard fourth-quarter field goal, gave the Patriots an insurmountable lead.
Summit, thanks to a balanced rushing attack led by George Odimegwu (17 carries, 86 yards) out-gained the Patriots, 341-283, but three interceptions from the Page defense loomed large.
Walker hit Burdick with a 35-yard field goal to open the scoring, with Tidmore’s point-after giving the Patriots a 7-0 advantage.
With 55 seconds left in the quarter, Walker hit Simon Simmonds with a 7-yard touchdown pass, the point-after putting Page up 14.
Summit answered with a score on Destin Wade’s 11-yard touchdown pass to Brayden Stem, but Burdick returned a kickoff 85 yards for a score to give Page a 21-7 lead with 1:22 left before half.
Page (5-1) heads to Lincoln County next week, while Summit (3-3) hosts Franklin County.
