Neighbors Page and Summit Battle It Out Friday

Neighboring schools Page and Summit will battle it out this Friday. The two schools kicked-off the season last week and will face each other on the field at Summit High School.

Page fell just short to Lipscomb last week 42-60 after a tough fight, but quarterback Zak Mizell had three touchdowns to ignite the scoreboard. Head coach over the Patriots, Charles Rathbone says that Mizell will need time to throw the ball in this upcoming game against Summit.
Rathbone says his team played well against Lipscomb offensively, but there are a couple of things to work on as the season plays out.

“There are still some things we need to improve on that side of the ball, but for the first game we played well. Defensively, we need to get much better.” Page’s Baylor Breckenridge and Hunter Adams are key players in this defensive line-up.

The Patriots head coach lives in the Summit community and is looking forward to the match up. “My kids are zoned for Summit, and I know many of the parents and staff in the community…” said Rathbone, “Great people, great environment, and great sportsmanship when we play Summit.”

Last week, Summit defeated local Spring Hill 28-6, and senior Dee Hunter rushed for 180 yards and had three touchdowns.
Running the ball effectively is what head coach Robert Keasler says was a key factor in Summit’s success last week. “We were able to control the line of scrimmage…” said Keasler, “Defensively, we tackled well and had kids constantly around the football.”

Keasler says he’s looking forward to the match up, as well. “I am looking forward to a good hard fought battle between two neighboring schools and a great atmosphere.”

The Spartans success rests on the shoulders of the same hard work that paid off during the Spring Hill game.

The Patriots will travel across town to Summit and will kick-off the game at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
