Chase Tidmore kicked a 17-yard field goal on the game’s last play, handing Page the 5-A Region 5 regular-season title with a 20-17 overtime win over Shelbyville.

Michael Burdick and Quincy Brock-Compton scored touchdowns for Page (8-1, 5-0 in Region 5). Burdick caught six balls for 139 yards and also had an interception, which he returned 35 yards.

Shelbyville out-gained Page,454-311, but Page forced four turnovers.  Austin Harshaw led the defense with 10 tackles (six solo) and Brady Buckley added an interception for Page (8-1).

Page failed to score in the second half, and the game went to overtime tied at 17. Shelbyville then missed a field goal on its first possession in overtime, setting up Tidmore’s game winner.

Tidmore’s 35-yard field goal, combined with his point-after following quarterback Cade Walker’s 80-yard touchdown to Burdick, put the Patriots up, 10-7, with 2:32 left in the first quarter.

Brock-Compton’s 6-yard touchdown run with 8:08 left in the second quarter, put Page up by 10. But Central answered with a touchdown, and the score was 17-14 at half. 

Page wraps up its regular season next Friday with a trip to Columbia.
