Page At Home Friday Against Fairview

Williamson County Football
By Amber Pennycuff

The red-white-and-blue are at it again. Taking a big win from Cascade (6-2, 2-2) last week, the Patriots are hungry for another win and will take on Fairview Friday night.

Hailing from District 11, the Yellow Jackets are 7-1 at the moment, with only one loss to Lewis County. Fairview took a bye the week after to recoup and sprang back against Hickman County (5-3) at full force, taking a 47-6 win.

This season, Page has taken other wins from Summit (1-8), Forrest (5-3), and Fayetteville (4-4).

Page, certainly, lies within a tough district. With powerhouse CPA (9-0, 4-0) and Giles County (7-2, 3-1), the Patriots have to work their way to the top. Taking a loss to both of those school, and talented Marshall County (3-5, 2-2), the win against Cascade was a huge move for Page. The win not only put a “W” in the record books, but sealed a message to say that the Patriots are up to the battle.

On a 99-yard drive for 16 plays, the red-white-and-blue drove it into the end zone for the game-tying score, and kicker Mason Foley added the extra point to give Page the 21-20 win. Also, Zak Mizell dominated finishing 9-of-19 for passing and led the Patriots with over 100-rushing yards. This is the exact drive that the Patriots will have to carry over with them into the game against Fairview this Friday.

The Patriots will take on neighboring district rival Spring Hill (1-7, 0-4) next week. And if they can pull a win out from under the Yellow Jackets wings, they might just be able to finish out the season 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the district.

Page will kick-off at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
