Dr. Andrea Anthony is the Principal of Page High School and was recently named the Principal of the Year for Tennessee. She was eligible for National Principal of the Year after being designated a state winner of the MetLife/NASSP National Principal of the Year Program. She joined all the winners for a three-day event in Washington, D.C. in September.
The visit allowed principals to meet senators and congressmen on Capitol Hill to discuss education issues. Dr. Anthony has a proven record for success in involving the local community in the life of the school and has shown an astute awareness of current and emerging issues as well as a passion in improving the school’s learning environment. In 2011, Page High was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award in DC.
“NASSP is honored to recognize the outstanding work of Andrea Anthony,” said JoAnn Bartoletti, NASSP executive director. “The Principals Institute was a wonderful chance for us to thank these outstanding educators while giving them the opportunity to speak with their elected officials, grow professionally and learn from and inspire one another.” This event comes just before National Principals Month in October. Tell your school principal how much you appreciate their efforts this October.
