The Page High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) took the learning out of the classroom and to the State Capitol.

As part of their unit about U.S. and state legislative systems, the JROTC juniors and seniors had the opportunity to tour the State Capitol building and the House and Senate chambers before meeting with Governor Bill Haslam.

In addition to meeting with Haslam, they were also able to meet with local legislators and ask questions about government procedures and current bills.

“This is what’s right about our country,” said retired Col. and Page High JROTC instructor Eric Golowsky. “These cadets are the immediate future of our nation. They are voting constituents effecting daily issues and our democratic system.”
