In an odd twist of events, the TSSAA forced Nashville Overton to forfeit its 6-A playoff game with Ravenwood, which was scheduled for Friday night.

The Raptors, now 9-2, will take on unbeaten Cane Ridge next Friday on the road. The forfeit extends Ravenwood’s winning streak to three.

On Thursday, the TSSAA placed Overton on “restrictive probation,” according to TNHighSchoolFootball.com’s Donovan Stewart, and taken out of the state playoffs. (You may read the full story here.)

The discipline was due to a fight after an Oct. 26 game with Antioch, which Overton won, 24-0. The fight broke out in the post-game handshake line, according to Stewart.

The Bobcats ended their season at 4-7. The Raptors, awarded a 1-0 victory, were the No. 2 seed coming out of Region 6-6A, while Overton was the No. 3 in Region 5.
