O’More College Reveals New Logo

O’More College of Design revealed their redesigned logo and brand to the public of Franklin on Wednesday afternoon during a ceremony on the O’More campus.

O’More’s School of Visual Design spearheaded the rebranding effort which included designing a new logo, rethinking the website and creating a mobile app to showcase the work of students.

“Website design has come a long way in a relatively short period of time. The notion of flashy sites has fallen to the importance of ease of use. Visitors want to find what they’re looking for quickly, and the new site is a wealth of information for new visitors and current students. We focused heavily on telling the stories of our students, faculty and alumni, on the work they’re doing and the role that design plays in our world.”

At the heart of O’More’s rebranding is their new logo, which was revealed during Wednesday’s ceremony. Before now, the logo has remained the same since the college opened in 1970 as a symbol of the rich tradition and some of the unchanging principles of design, but the college felt it was time for a change in order to reach out to a wider audience.

O’More is already a well-respected school, and they hope their new logo will help them reach more students interested in pursuing a career in design, as well as making their name known among some of the larger design colleges in the greater Nashville area.

“The mission of the new logo is to represent the innovative nature of the college, and to honor and build upon the old,” said Rebecca Stillwell, president of O’More.

The new logo blends yesterday with today using the juxtaposition of tradition and technology that has taken the design industry into a new realm. The rebranding efforts, as well as some renovations to the campus, are helping O’More reach a whole new level of bringing modern design to Franklin.
