O’More College of Design Welcomes the Community

O'More College of Design

The Franklin Community Is Invited to Celebrate O’More’s Success
David Rosen, President, O’More College of Design

O’More is a jewel of a college, nestled in the most beautiful, historic and culturally alive town in America and next to a city of booming creativity.

If you have stepped onto the campus of O’More during a Franklin Art Scene or for the Grape Stomp or the Christmas tour, you can feel how creativity is nurtured in there. So you won’t be surprised that O’More fashion is ranked number one in Tennessee and that Interior students win so many national awards.

At the end of the semester, each studio brings industry professionals to O’More to critique the student work. And when that is over, each of the programs takes its work to the public. This year Fashion will have its annual show at the John C. Tune Airport, Interiors displayed its work to industry at the Nashville Civic Design Center, and Graphic Design has rented a bus that will take students and their work to the major marketing and advertising firms throughout Nashville.

Graduation is on May 14. The O’More Fashion Show is on May 12. On May 11 is the Preview Party for the O’More Show House, a wonderful display of the work of alums in a 5600 square foot home in the heart of Hincheyville at 1006 Main Street.

On May 13 we take a short pause. The seniors, their families and friends, return to campus to celebrate. And their work will fill all the buildings on the campus for everyone to see and enjoy.

This year, we are inviting all of Franklin to join us in that celebration and to bring their friends. Franklin has embraced O’More for the last 46 years and helped us grow. We want the people of Franklin and the surrounding communities to be part of the celebration.

We do many things together from Blood Drives to Art Throw Downs. Our students shop at Franklin stores and work in them too. But most of all, the glorious little city provides the soil in which we grow.

It will be a chance for the community to see the success it has helped our students achieve, to see what we do up on the hill that makes us so successful.

The event is Friday, May 13 from 5pm  to 7pm,with a short program at 5:30. So come to mingle, see, and celebrate. And of course it is free, because if you are from round here, you are family.
