O’More and CALA Offering Spanish Classes in January

The Center for Accelerated Language Acquisition (CALA) and O’More College of Design are bringing revolutionary teaching methods to community Spanish classes held on the College’s downtown campus in January.

“This is not rote memorization and drills like other traditional foreign language courses you may have taken before. Instead, vocabulary and grammar are acquired through body movement, games and fun activities with the communicative context of stories in a highly interactive environment,” stated CALA Spanish Instructor Brian Roberts.

“As thousands of students who have taken these Spanish courses have attested, you will have fun and surprise yourself at how quickly you can gain facility in the language.”

Two courses, both open to the public, will combine Basic Spanish I and II on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. Wednesday classes will run from January 8-April 30th, and Thursday classes will run from January 9th-May 1st.
The cost for the semester will be $750.

“We place great emphasis on community education at O’More, and we’re thankful for the partnership with CALA that brings their expertise in effective Spanish language acquisition,” noted interim president Rebecca Stilwell “These courses are appropriate for any age adult interested in learning conversational Spanish, and are guaranteed to be a lot of fun.”
