Susan Wright Kelton

Susan Edward Wright Kelton of Brentwood, TN passed away on January 31, 2018 after a courageous two and half year battle against cancer.

Susan was born and raised in Franklinton, LA to Mary Magdalene (Taylor) and Edward Wright on July 20, 1946. She graduated from Louisiana State University in 1968. She married Mac Kelton on July 14, 1972. Susan’s most cherished role was wife to Mac and mother to her three boys.

Her love for people was evident throughout her 38 years as a Realtor. Susan had a heart for education and proudly worked to help establish Christ Presbyterian Academy of Nashville. Susan’s generous spirit led to the co-founding of The Nashville Giving Circle. She is also the co-author of the book “My Grandmother is Praying for me.” Susan’s life was marked by her great love for friends and family, but her faith in Jesus Christ was her greatest treasure. It was the source of her grateful and joyful spirit.

Susan is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mac Kelton, three sons – Rhett (Andrea), Jeremy, and Clay (Rebecca), and five grandchildren – Wyatt, Kendall, Piper, Lainey and Knox. She is survived by her two sisters Nancy Futral, of Brandon FL, and Mary Crain, of Bogalusa, LA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday, February 4th from 1 to 4pm at Christ Presbyterian Church in Nashville, TN. The memorial service will be Monday, February 5th at Noon at Christ Presbyterian Church.
