Sara James West Robertson, age 93 of Franklin, TN passed away May 8, 2019.
She was born and raised in Franklin, then attended Vanderbilt University where she received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics, received the Lady of the Bracelet Award, and met her future husband, William (Tex) Robertson. Stops in the backwaters of Louisiana and wind blown West Texas preceded Saipan, Japan, eventually Nicaragua, and then back to the states.
She worked on occasion as a teacher and later as a data analyst for the government, but her true calling was for golf, bridge, world travel, and Vanderbilt sports.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander Robertson, Jr.; parents, Alfred Louis and Martha Elise Vaden West; sister, Martha Lawrence and brother in law, Steve Lawrence. Survived by: son, Bill (Robin) Robertson; grandchildren, Alysia Robertson, Bill (Sara) Robertson IV and Kim (Matt) Kiser; great grandchildren, Elise and Wilson Kiser and Paul Godchaux-Robertson.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 AM, June 1, 2019 at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, Jim Taylor officiating.
