Lewis J. Cox, Jr., Age 67, of Nashville, passed away on September 3, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Lewis J. Cox Sr. and Barbara D. Cox. Lewis is survived by his daughters, Jasmine Danielle Hyde and Amber Nicole Phillips; sons-in-law, Demario Desmont Hyde and Eric Darryl Martin Jr.; grandsons, Demario Desmont Hyde Jr., Demani Dessiah Hyde, and Eric Darryl Martin III; sisters, Deborah Cox Page (Kenneth West Page) and Cheryl “Sherry” Cox Ganison (Milton “Cowboy” Ganison III); nephews, Dante’ J. Cox and Major Milton Sidney Ganison IV.
For more than 40 years, Jeff was a skilled barber, using his talents not only to shape hair but also to shape connections with people from all walks of life. Jeff was a man of many passions who enjoyed reading, following sports, and sharpening his mind through games. He was an avid chess and card player, and his family and friends knew him as a true master of dominoes. His love for these activities reflected his sharp wit, patience, and competitive spirit, which he carried with him in all aspects of life. Above all, Lewis cherished time with his family and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and treasured memories.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 25, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at St. Luke CME Church, 2008 28th Ave N, Nashville.
