OBITUARY: Junji Hamada

Junji Hamada, age 70, passed away on July 12, 2018 in Nashville, TN. Junji is survived by his son, Takahiro (Lindsay); and his granddaughters, Ayaka and Karin. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Michiko; his sons, Hirozumi and Tomohiro; his parents, Tokutaro and Fuyo; and his sister, Hideko.

Junji was born on March 28, 1948 in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. He met his wife while taking the same English class. Junji dreamed of owning a big house, as he did not have that growing up in Tokyo. His family moved to the U.S. in 1984 and he and his son, Takahiro, settled into that big house in Brentwood, TN in 1993.

Junji was a successful businessman, retiring from Willis Group in 2013. In retirement, Junji enjoyed painting watercolors, playing golf, gardening and most of all visiting his beautiful granddaughters. He will be deeply missed.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the FiftyForward Martin Center, 960 Heritage Way, Brentwood, TN 37027. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Junji Hamada to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
