Jalen Trey Petin, 32, of Franklin, Tennessee, passed away on July 16, 2025.
Born on February 23, 1993, Jalen was the firstborn son in his family and a graduate of Independence High School. He worked as a professional painter and in customer service, where his strong work ethic and resilience inspired those around him.
Jalen was a warm and kind soul—an old soul whose presence brought comfort and peace to all who knew him. Funny and creative, he was always ready with a quick joke and a smile that could brighten any room. A devoted father, loving son, caring brother, and proud uncle, Jalen approached life with optimism and strength. His independent spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impact, and his memory will continue to inspire hope and joy.
He is survived by his beloved son, Elijah Petin; his mother, Brett Trapani, and stepfather, David; his father, Mika’il Petin; his brothers, Jason and Justin; his aunts, Wesley, Devon, and Samantha; and his grandmother, Sherri Arden. He is also fondly remembered by personal friends Portia Nicholson and Adrienne Cooper, and many others whose lives he touched.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
