OBITUARY: Dr. Frederick Lee Haley

Dr. Frederick Lee Haley, age 67 of Franklin, Tenn., passed away on Dec. 19, 2016.

Dr. Haley was born in Kingsport Tennessee. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School, Johns Hopkins University (Phi Beta Kappa) and was a Vanderbilt University School of Medicine Justin Potter scholar. He was the first cardiologist in Franklin, opening his practice in 1980. Fred was a devoted father. Preceded in death by parents, Eugene and Martha Hathaway Haley; brother, Michael Haley.

Survived by wife, Mary Charles Lasater; son, Justin Lasater Haley; sister, Patty Haley (Pat) Carter; mother in-law, Charlotte Lasater and cousins, David and Gary Tatterson.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, with visitation one hour prior at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home, 3009 Columbia Ave., Franklin, with Dr. Lynn Hill and the Rev. Regina Proctor officiating. Entombment will follow in Remembrance Mausoleum in Williamson Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers: John Cox and other members of the Seekers Sunday School Class. The family wishes to express appreciation to caregivers Lynn Robbins, Bianka Smith and Chris Kirkland and others at All About Care, Laura Temple, physical therapist, and to Gretchen Napier of LifeLinks Care Management. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Franklin First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
