Barbara “Barbi” Helen Duell, age 69, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 14, 1956, in Greeley, Colorado, to Elaine Johnson Duell and the late Herbert H. Duell.
Barbi was a cherished member of the Brentwood Baptist Deaf Church. Barbi’s gentle spirit and joyful heart touched everyone who knew her. She had a deep love for reading, drawing, animals, music, her many friends, and, of course, her favorite treat—iced coffee.
Her creativity, kindness, and warm smile brought light to those around her, and she will be remembered for her unwavering love and the simple, beautiful ways she shared it. In addition to her father, Barbi was preceded in death by her niece, Elexa Genesis VanArsdol.
Those left to cherish Barbi’s memory are her devoted mother, Elaine Duell; sisters, Jeanette Breeden (Phil) and Dianne VanArsdol (Keith); several nieces, nephews, many cousins, and several loving family members.
A Celebration of Life will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to BrightStone. The care of Barbara Helen Duell and her family has been entrusted to the staff of Williamson Memorial Funeral Home.
