Alice VonSchmittou Derry, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2019. Alice was born in Slayden, TN, on January 4, 1929, to Harry Perkins and Ruth Boaz VonSchmittou.
Alice is preceded in death by brothers, Thomas, Gary and Charles VonScmhittou and sister Etta VonSchmittou; and grandson Evan Derry.
Alice is survived by daughter, Von Derry, son, Tony (Kelly) Derry, grandchildren, Misty (Perry) Keenan and Troy (Cindy) Hestle, four beloved great-grandchildren, nephews, Mark and Patrick Schmittou.
Alice was a Management Analyst for the Department of Defense for 33 years, having spent 14 of those years in Heidelberg, Germany. Upon retirement in 1988, she returned home to Tennessee and spent the following 18 years as a human resource manager with Gaylord Opryland.
Alice was a dedicated volunteer for various Williamson County organizations, prolific gardener and avid reader.
Alice would like her friends to remember her by doing something wonderful every day.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
