The Week Five edition of TNHighSchoolFootball.com’s Williamson County Player of the Week has been awarded to Brentwood Academy senior QB Jeremiah Oatsvall, who helped his team defeat Baylor 35-0 last Friday night.

He was 7-of-9 passing with 106 yards and a touchdown. But it wasn’t Oatsvall’s passing stats that were most impressive. He was also effective on the ground, rushing for three touchdowns while carrying the ball 17 times for 77 yards.

The Austin Peay commit finally had his breakout game of the season and he decided to showcase his talent in front of the Eagles’ home crowd.

The Eagles’ fans are not the only fans excited about the future of their quarterback, as the Austin Peay Governors have to be pumped about having Oatsvall as their future quarterback.

The visiting Red Raiders, who were ranked No. 1 in Division II before the game, brought one of the state’s strongest defenses with them as they traveled to Brentwood from Chattanooga for Friday’s Division II-AA showdown. However, Oatsvall showed his dual-threat ability and the dynamic Eagles offense had other plans.

Even though Oatsvall had his best performance of the season thus far, he still gave full credit for his defense producing a shutout.

“Our defense prepared very well this week, I could tell,” said Eagles quarterback Jeremiah Oatsvall, who accounted for four of the team’s five touchdowns. “They took a lot of extra time out of their schedules to really prepare for that offense.

“I think this week’s preparation really separated us.”

After this offensive and defensive domination by Brentwood Academy, many fans around the state recognized them as the top team in Division II-AA. With Oatsvall guiding them through the season, the Eagles will certainly compete for another shot at a state championship.

Oatsvall and the Eagles are off this week.
