There are two parts to leading a healthy lifestyle, exercise and diet.  Sometimes people can dive into the deep end with one and the other seems to be the catch.  Today we are going to discuss the nutrition part.  Which diet is right for you?

This is a great question and one that you should be asking yourself before you make a decision.  Diet and nutrition are most often used for a quick way to lose weight instead of changing of lifestyle.  People go on strict diets for weddings, graduations, vacations, etc.  However, what about just eating healthy, balanced meals, or how about cutting portions down?  Both of these are great places to start.

Think of your personality and how a certain diet will fit into it.  If you are a person who needs gradual change, going “cold turkey” style may not work for you.  If you are a person who is a bit strict, then going gradual may not work for you.  Choose something that also works with your lifestyle.  For instance, if you are a person who works out a lot, to completely cut your carbs out may leave you feeling lethargic and irritable.

A simple way to get started is to choose one item that may not be the healthiest and take it out of your diet for a week.  Prove to yourself that you can live without it.  Once you come to this realization, you will see that you can take the next step, and before you know it, your eating habits will change.  You will start to feel better from the inside out!  Keep it simple!
