Nolensville High Students Place at Culinary Invitational

Nolensville High culinary students are proving their skills in the kitchen.

NHS students Katie Gregory, Hannah McDonal, Rachel Gant and Contessa Gainsley placed third in the Culinary Team competition at the Tennessee ProStart Invitational. Ethan Savoldi and Jade Reasoner placed second in the Management Team competition. Ethan also earned the Best in Class Award.

CulinaryThe competition, hosted by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, lets high school students discover new interests while opening different career paths in the restaurant industry. Students are challenged to demonstrate their industry knowledge through various competitions.

“My culinary students spent countless hours perfecting their menu and executing their recipes,” said NHS culinary teacher Lyndsey Weatherford. “They handled themselves like professionals, and I couldn’t be more proud.”

Both teams received scholarships between $2,000 to $12,000 from seven different schools.
