Coming Soon to Nolensville: Local and Organic Farmer’s Market

On June 14th, the Nolensville Farmer’s Market will have it’s grand opening, offering varieties of natural and organic products for the people of Nolensville at the Historic Nolensville School at the intersection of Nolensville Road and Sunset Road. The market will be open every Saturday from 8 a.m. – noon until the end of the season. A soft opening will be held next Saturday, June 7th.

The idea for the Nolensville Farmer’s Market had it’s genesis in the minds of both Dr. Miro Bandalo, a chiropractor in Nolensville, and Kate Cortner, who had organized a farmer’s market in south Nashville last year, and had been seeing questions from Nolesnville newcomers about the existence of a local farmer’s market. Dr. Bandalo was concerned about the healthy eating options in Nolensville as he kept telling his patients to eat healthier, but they had few options for local organic produce.

“With the farmer’s market it’s almost like a town square where heath and healing happens, and it creates a sense of community togetherness,” Bandalo said.

At this time, 15 vendors are signed up to sell their goods, including local favorites such as Sweet Tea Candle Co., Petals and Stem Florist, the Bekahry, Mama’s Java, and Anderson Acres Farm. The majority of vendors will be outside, but there will be some selling from inside. The Farmer’s Market will go on rain or shine.

There are also plans to bring live music from local musicians from the Nolensville Guitar Academy, as well as anyone who would like to sign up to play in the background as people shop the local produce and artisan products.

“We have two large farms signed up to bring produce and have a few others interested. We will have other items like baked goods, granola, fruit, salsa, jams, nutbutters, body care, candles, flowers, and hopefully some eggs and meat,” said Kasi Haire, board of directors member for the market.

There is space for 30 vendors, so contact organizers at [email protected] if you are interested in selling your local goods at the Nolensville Farmer’s Market.
