Nolensville got Paul Derrick’s coaching career off to a great start, as the Knights beat Fayetteville, 41-28, on the road on Friday evening.
The Knights led 27-6 at half, and extended that lead to 34-6, before Fayetteville added three touchdowns to close the night.
Nolensville avenged last year’s 27-26, opening-night defeat at the hands of the Tigers, who went 6-5 last season.
The Knights were a remarkable story last year, winning four games (including a playoff contest) in their first year of football.
They’ll face Page (1-0) in their home opener next Friday.
