When Angela Privett was looking for office space for her insurance agency, she stumbled across an opportunity she could not resist. When she saw the property at 5159 Main Street in Spring Hill – its expansive green space and connectivity to nearby neighborhood Autumn Ridge –  an idea to create a community space for Spring Hill residents was born.

It’s called The Landing at Spring Hill – a family-friendly venue and destination for live music, festivals, games, a cafe and even the opportunity for community members to rent the space for private events or fundraisers.

The grandmother of five saw it as the perfect place to create a “family destination” a place where you can spend time outside, play games, walk to Harvey Park, and enjoy family time while getting to know others in the community.

Privett has plans to open a family-friendly cafe but for now, she wants the space to be available to local nonprofits or anyone who wants to host a family event. Soon, you will see mums and pumpkins for sale in the front parking lot.

A kick-off event will be held on Saturday, October 12 10 a – 4 p. The family-friendly event will have bounce houses, food trucks, games, and more. Tickets to the event are $5, children under the age of 5 are free. A portion of the profits will be given to local non profits in Spring Hill.
