New Must Try Restaurant: SALT & VINE

SALT & VINE

Make this spot your next food destination – whether for lunch or girls night out. We promise it will be the place that you will visit again and again.

Located in the new Hill Center development on Charlotte Pike, SALT & VINE is gourmet market during the day and at 4pm, SALT & VINE offers table service featuring their curated menu of fresh items.

We are calling it a triple threat- The force behind SALT & VINE is Franklin native, Mattie Jackson -Beverage Director, Hannah Schneider -General Manager, and Molly Fitzpatrick Martin -Chef. When asking why they chose the name SALT & VINE, Schneider told us this.

“SALT & VINE came from the two things we do best, WINE and cured meats and cheeses. More so, it’s a promise and reminder to stay true to the roots of great wine and great food.”

While we agree with the great wine and food, there are a few other things to know about SALT & VINE.

Coffee – Often considered last on the list of things to add to a menu program, SALT & VINE has invested in their coffee program utilizing roasted coffee from Cafe Integral out of Brooklyn. Known for their exceptional Nicaraguan Coffees sourced by owner Cesar Vega and roasted in New York. Their coffee program includes everything from drip coffee to a latte. SALT & VINE

Cafe by Day- During the day, they will offer fresh salads, sliced meats and cheeses and pastries. Think of a European market where you can watch as they slice your choices. They is also a selection of sandwiches to choose from as well. After making your selections, you can dine in or take it to go.

Dinner & Wine Selections– Happy hour begins at 4pm with table service and an excellent menu of divided into three parts : snack, share, and sweet. One of the most popular items from the snack menu is the handmade sour cream and chips. On the share portion of the menu, we tried the Burrata with grilled corn, peach, and basil. Simple yet elegant and a departure from the typical salad you might find on a menu. There are only three selections on the sweet menu and you’ll be happy to know it includes an artisan chocolate board. But for those who don’t like chocolate there’s a peach and brown butter short cake.

The drink menu has a selection of 25 wines with an option for a punch bowl size drinks to share with the table called “Go Big or Go Home,” and if you are not with a big group, there is a selection of six handcrafted cocktails ranging from “A Kick in the Pants” to the “Not so Southern Baptist.” They have even included a small selection of beers on the menu.

SALT & VINE wants to share their love of wine with their patrons and will be offering wine classes where they focus on bottles of wine that cost less than $15. Their first class takes place on August 3rd at 5:30 pm titled Rose’s Around the World. Cost of the class will be $30. To attend the class, email [email protected] to reserve your spot.
