New Franklin Physical Therapy Clinic Opening Next Week

A new outpatient physical therapy clinic is set to open on Monday in Franklin.

Johnson & Hayes Physical Therapists will open on June 12, 2017 at 740 Cool Springs Boulevard, Suite 215. This is the company’s third location.

Scott Johnson and Todd Hayes, two lifelong friends, started the business in 2003 in Alabama, where they have locations in Huntsville and Madison.

Johnson and Hayes played high school and junior college baseball together. Johnson went on to play at Birmingham-Southern College while Hayes continued his career at Lipscomb University. Both graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with master’s degrees in physical therapy. Their shared passion for sports, and an understanding of the injuries that come with them, led them to the field of physical therapy.

With that understanding, and as former athletes, their philosophy as physical therapists is patient-centric.

“We are passionate about our patients and our profession,” Johnson said. “We value a strong patient-therapist relationship and make this our priority by providing hands on care to each patient, with the same therapist, throughout their plan of care.”

Hayes said, “J&H is committed to providing a clinical environment where the patient is treated as family and the therapist enjoys coming to work.”

“Our therapists are highly trained in manual techniques, exercise prescription, exercise progression, and dry needling,” Johnson said. “We make sure the care provided to our patients is specific to their needs to ensure return to the highest level of function.”

“You will see the same licensed physical therapist from beginning to end. We feel this model allows for better outcomes and better patient satisfaction,” Hayes added.

Johnson and Hayes hired David Jennings, DPT, ATC to oversee their Franklin clinic. A Belmont PT school graduate, Jennings is the only physical therapist to complete the sports physical therapy residency offered in a joint venture between Vanderbilt and Belmont University. He joined the Johnson and Hayes team in January of this year and has been working in Huntsville while the Franklin renovation was completed.

“We couldn’t be more excited about opening in Franklin and look forward to serving the patients and physicians of Williamson County,” Johnson said.
