Less than one week remains to vote early in the upcoming August 2, 2018 Federal/State Primary & County General Election.
The Williamson County Election Commission will add four additional early voting sites beginning today, Monday, July 23. Early voting ends on Saturday, July 28th at 12:00 p.m. noon at all locations.
Election Day is Thursday, August 2nd. According to Chad Gray, Administrator of Elections, a total of 7,279 early ballots have been cast by the close of business on Saturday, or 4.9% of the 149,829 eligible registered voters in the county. Out of the total ballots cast, 5,084 or 69.8% of the voters have participated in the Republican Primary and 2,176 voters or 29.9% have participated in the Democratic Primary.
Early voting began on July 13th at the Election Commission Office and the John P. Holt Brentwood Library. “Early voting is extremely popular with many of our voters and it is important to exercise our civic duty by participating in these important primaries to nominate State and Federal candidates to appear on the November 2, 2018, State General Election ballot. Please remember voters are electing several offices appearing on the County General Election ballot as well. Keep in mind that there is always a possibility of long lines on Election Day” said Gray.
