On Wednesday, April 29, Robby Hopkins was declared the grand prize winner of Nashville Rising Star Series 3, a songwriter open-mic contest hosted by Wild Wing Cafe in Cool Springs. Over 200 songwriters from the Nashville area (and beyond) competed before a live audience and music industry judges in 7 preliminary rounds, a semi-final and a final round. Robby’s song, “Lay Me Down” was selected as having the most commercial potential to be recorded by a popular artist. Robby won over $2,500 in cash and career advancing prizes, including a $500 check awarded by Wild Wing Cafe. Here’s a pic of Wild Wing Manager Chris handing Robby his check.
