Nashville Nonprofit is Asking for Sock Donations to Help Refugees

Sock Monkey

Servant Group International is asking for your socks to help refugees in Greece. Over 160,000 refugees arrived on the shores of Greece last month alone. Europe is experiencing a refugee crisis as people flee Northern Africa and the Middle East.

By the time the refugees get to Greece, their thin cotton socks have worn out and they have weeks of walking still ahead of them and colder weather on the way. You can help a refugee by sending a pair of new sturdy wool-blend hiking socks to Servant Group International. Socks are needed  in all sizes from small kids to adults.

Servant Group International is sending a team to Greece at the end of October to help with the refugee crisis, and their goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of socks to take with them.

Here’s a link to the type of socks needed. Follow Servant Group International on Facebook for the latest sock update.
