Mylkbar, a nail salon specializing in nontoxic nail products, opened its first location in Tennessee at 3065 Mallory Lane, Franklin.
Ashley Helms is the franchise owner of the Franklin location who shared with us; this won’t be the only location of Mylkbar in the area.
“Currently, there is only one Mylkbar location in TN, but we are planning to expand and open several more in the area,” said Helms.
Helms is a Nashville native who graduated from Belmont University; she and her husband moved to Williamson County over 14 years ago.
The first location of Mylkbar is located in Charleston, South Carolina. Helms knew the founder, Katie Shields and when the opportunity came about for Mylkbar to add other locations, Helms knew it was what she needed to bring to the area.
“My husband and I have known the founder (Katie Shields) and her husband for several years. When Katie started developing the Mylkbar concept we knew it would be disruptive to the industry and that we would love to be involved. We thought that Nashville would be the perfect location for the first franchise store, and Katie agreed!”
What makes Mylkbar different from other nail salons is their dedication to the nontoxic nail products.
“Mylkbar is Franklin’s first non-toxic nail and beauty bar. We are a natural nail bar, and we do not use drills of any kind. We have a double sanitation process and a medical-grade autoclave for all of our implements,” said Helms.
“We have a 6-free or better promise with all of our products, including our gel polishes. All of our pedicure bowls are free from bacteria causing jets. We offer facial and waxing services with nontoxic skincare as well, ” she continued.
In addition to nail services, Mylkbar also offers a retail space with unique products.
“We have a fun retail area offering brands like Leahlani skincare, Havaianas, Blenders eyewear, Hearne Dry Goods Jewelry, and Blender Bombs for smoothie starters! We have something for everyone. Our space is clean, inviting, and super-duper instagramable! We offer online booking and of course, a complimentary glass of Rose during your service!”
