Muletown Musicfest to Hit Downtown Columbia

The first annual Muletown Musicfest presented by Listerhill Credit Union will be taking place in downtown Columbia on the historic Public Square this coming October 3, 2015. The music lineup, curated by music supervisor Rick Clark (TV show Hell On Wheels, The Oxford American Magazine) and Kim Jameson (30A Songwriters Festival, RPM live music nights), features an exciting sampling of some of the region’s finest singer-songwriters, funk, blues, barbershop quartet, bluegrass, classical, country and children’s music talent.Experience-Maury-RedGrey-215x300

The Muletown Musicfest kicks off Friday night October 2 with a VIP party for sponsors and those buying VIP tickets at the upstairs venue in Puckett’s. Guests will be entertained by the world-class 16-piece horn group funk of Tim Akers & The Smoking Section.

Saturday, October 3 will begin at 10 a.m. with FREE children’s events, Maury County restaurant options, an “instrument petting zoo,” and FREE music, music, music. There will be no charge for entry into the downtown area or enjoying most of the musical venues.

Among the artists featured throughout Saturday day and night are 18 South (with special guest artist John Oates), Phil Madeira’s Mercyland, Humming House, Parker Millsap, Firekid, Kelsey Waldon, Sam Lewis, Cale Tyson, Scott Holt Band, Damien Boggs, Tommy Womack, Peter Cooper & Friends, Farmer Jason/Jason Ringenberg, Alicia Michilli and many more.

Except for three ticketed venues, the Muletown Musicfest is free to the public, including a dozen free performance areas located in downtown venues, restaurants and stores. $30 wristbands will guarantee access in the three ticketed venues for Saturday night. A $50 VIP wristband will include Friday and Saturday nights.
