Mrs. America Reunion Takes Place in Downtown Franklin

Mrs. America-Class of 2015

Mrs. Tennessee 2015, Cheryl Brehm of Franklin, has been chosen to host the “Mrs. America Class of 2015 Reunion” in the Nashville area from March 30th –April 5th. Twenty state titleholders will fly in from every part of the country, coming as far as Hawaii.

The reigning Mrs. America, Madeline Gwin of Alabama, will also be among the women attending. The beautiful ladies will be treated to a fun-filled schedule that includes touring Music City museums, learning to country line dance, shopping in downtown Franklin, enjoying local vineyards, and being featured in Southern-styled photoshoots. The beauty queens will also participate in the Mercy Multiplied 5k race, each wearing clothes that represent her home state.

To date this is the largest reunion event of its kind, and Franklin will be highlighted as the pinnacle location of the trip. “I’m incredibly proud of my community in Franklin, and I’m excited to see them fall in love with America’s favorite Main Street, the same way I did ten years ago,” says host Cheryl Brehm, who is a volunteer with the Downtown Franklin Association. “You can’t get more American than this, which is why I consider Franklin the best place to visit during a Nashville trip.”

On Saturday, the reunion group will meet at I Love Juice Bar, stop by the Visitor’s Center, head out to Arrington Vineyards, ending the day with dinner at Gray’s on Main.

The 2015 Mrs. America Pageant was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 24th at the Westgate Hotel. Fifty-two contestants were judged in 4 categories: personal interview, beauty, swimsuit, and evening gown, each worth 25% of the total score. Specialized awards were also given in several areas of competition: Mrs. Fitness (Swimsuit Award), Mrs. Photogenic, Mrs. Congeniality, and Top Ad Sales. The woman crowned was Madeline Gwin of Alabama, who was also a finalist at the Mrs. World Pageant in Dongguan, China on March 12th.

The Mrs. America and Mrs. World Pageants focus on the beauty and accomplishments of married women. Pageant judges look for contestants who are not only beautiful, but articulate, and well rounded…whether their days are focused on family, career, civic duties, or a combination of all. Titleholders are considered the most beautiful and best representatives of the married woman of today.
