Missing Tennessee Girl Possibly Sighted in Missouri

amber alert

An Amber Alert has been issued in Missouri for Carlie Trent, a 9-year-old girl from Rogersville, Tennesee who has been missing since May 4th, reports Associated Press.

Carlie was removed from school on the 4th by Gary Simpson, her uncle by marriage. Simpson has no custodial rights.

The Cooper County Sheriff’s Department in Missouri issued the alert Tuesday after Carlie was possibly seen Monday near Otterville.

Carlie is white, with blonde hair and blue eyes, about 4 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 75 pounds.

Tennessee authorities say Carlie was signed out of school under false pretenses Wednesday by her non-custodial uncle, 57-year-old Gary Simpson. He is balding, with brown hair and eyes and was last seen wearing a brown cap, a dark colored shirt and jeans.

They are traveling in a white 2002 Ram 1500 van with a dark stripe down the middle, with Tennessee license number 173GPS.

A $12,500 reward has been offered for information in the case.

On May 10th, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) also shared information regarding purchases (seen below) Gary Simpson made prior to taking Carlie Trent from school.

If you have information about the whereabouts of either of these individuals, call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
