Miranda Lambert’s Muttnation Travels to Houston for Dog Rescue Efforts

Country music star Miranda Lambert hit the road but not for another gig, instead, she headed to Houston with Muttnation to give relief to four-legged friends who have been displaced by the storm.

On Tuesday, Lambert posted on her Facebook page, “We are headed to Houston to give relief to municipal shelters. We will help transport any animals currently in shelters so that there is room for displaced animals from Hurricane Harvey.”

Later that day on Tuesday, Lambert posted an update stating they had rescued 72 dogs. Lambert went on to say, “My roommates tonight sure are cute! Mama and newborns that were born this morning. I’m calling her Ashley after Ashley Monroe who just had a baby herself.”

Wednesday’s update included a rescue of another 70 dogs.

As of Thursday morning, Lambert was back starting day 3 in Houston.

Lambert and Muttnation are asking for your help. They are asking for supplies to keep these pets healthy and happy once they have been taken out of the Houston area.

Muttnation has included a drop-off location in Franklin at Animalia. Donations will be accepted Monday-Friday from 7a -7p, and Saturday 9a-2p, in lieu of supplies you can also make a cash donation we well. Animalia is located at 1973 New Highway 97 West, Franklin, TN 37064.
