Just after midnight on August 28, smoke alarms alerted a Williamson County family to a fire that had filled a child’s bedroom with smoke. The family was able to evacuate safely before fire crews arrived.

Units from Stations 21 and 22, along with captains from Williamson County EMA and Williamson Health EMS, responded to the scene. Firefighters contained the fire to one wall of the bedroom and quickly extinguished the flames.

Investigators determined the cause was a malfunction of a small cosmetics refrigerator located in the room. No injuries were reported.

Williamson County Fire/Rescue reminds residents to check their smoke alarms regularly and replace any that are more than 10 years old.
