Mill Creek Brewing Co. to Open Taproom in Nashville

A result of successful growth at both its taproom and distribution territories, Mill Creek Brewing Co. expands into Nashville’s bustling 12 South neighborhood.

The brewery will open a second taproom located in the property previously home to Sloco and The Meet Room. The brewery’s original taproom, located in Nolensville, will remain open.

The move into Nashville proper comes right after the brewery’s partnership with the city’s soccer team, Nashville SC. “We started looking for space at the beginning of the year as a part of our 2018 goal to make intentional investments into Nashville,” says Founder and CEO Chris Going, “We spent much of 2017 growing our brewery outside of Tennessee and wanted this year to have a focus on growing Mill Creek in Nashville. This has played itself out with our involvement in things like Nashville SC and now creating a hub in an amazing and historic piece of Nashville proper.”

On the choice to move into the 12 South neighborhood, Chris Going added, “12 South was a natural choice for us because it already represents so much of what we work toward as brand to create, which is community. Since day 1, Mill Creek has looked at beer as a community building product, always ready to bring people together. We’re excited to have an opportunity to open a community driven space where our beer can add to the amazing community that already exists in 12 South.”

Mill Creek’s new 12 South taproom will serve all the beers currently found in their Nolensville taproom, such as year-rounds, seasonals, and special small batch brews. Chad Head, owner of Chago’s Cantina in Belmont, will be running the food operations of the taproom.

“It’s has been over 7 years since I’ve opened Chago’s on Belmont,” says Chad Head, “In that time, I have gotten to know and become friends with many of the residents of the 12 South/ Hillsboro Neighborhood. It became home for myself, my wife, and daughter and we could not be more excited to open another business here.”

On the food menu, Chad Head adds, “The food in the taproom will be fun and affordable — something we can all relate to. There are many different types of palates in the area and I think we will be able to please every one of them. Seafood, pig ears, pop street corn and a killer cheeseburger are just a few items to mention. We want anyone in the neighborhood to be able to walk in and be welcomed by someone they know, have a great experience, and leave with a smile on their face.”

This past Spring, Mill Creek Brewing Co. signed a partnership with Nashville SC as the team’s official craft brewery, a partnership which produced the team’s official craft beer, Goalden Ale. The brewery also recently announced its entrance into the Indiana market, its third out-of-state market and first non-southern territory.
