The latest Tennessee High School Wrestling Poll was released Dec. 8 with no teams from Williamson County being named in the top 12.
Area schools making the rankings are No. 1 Father Ryan, No. 3 Wilson Central, No. 8 Beech, and No. 10 Montgomery Bell Academy.
Votes for the poll, now in its 23rd year, were cast by a panel of coaches from around the state.
Three schools from inside the county are on the cusp of the top 12 as Brentwood, Ravenwood, and Summit also received votes.
Expect Ravenwood to make the list sooner rather than later as members from the football team return to the squad after their season ended in the Class 6A BlueCross Bowl last week.
It might take them a little while to get back in wrestling shape though.
“Boy oh boy, we football players are out of shape,” Raptor Seth Rowland said on Twitter Dec. 9. “I swear that wrestling is the sport that will eat (you) alive, if (you) are out of shape.”
The Raptors have won both the regional and district dual tournaments for five consecutive years, along with being regional champions four straight years.
Brentwood was runners up to Ravenwood in both the district and region in 2013, along with advancing to the Class AAA quarterfinals.
The Bruins have state champion Luke Hamilton (145) and region champs Chip Brothers and Tristan Roa back for 2014.
