Microsoft is moving its regional office out of Williamson County and taking those jobs to a budding development on Charlotte Avenue, in Nashville.
Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) announced Wednesday that it’s relocating to the OneCity development, anchored where the 28th/31st Avenue Connector meets Charlotte Avenue.
The $400 million development is a spark of Charlotte Avenue’s rapid revitalization — one of a number of emerging developments along one of the city’s major traffic arteries, at a time when companies and residents are showing more interest in Nashville’s urban core.
Doyle estimated that perhaps 50 or more Microsoft employees will work at the OneCity office. Microsoft should move in during the summer of 2016.
In a statement, Microsoft said its 13,300-square-foot space will include a tech center where it can demonstrate its products to customers.
“We believe our new workplace design and location will accelerate our efforts to help build Nashville’s technology community,” said David Hanna, sales director at Microsoft.
Microsoft is relocating its regional office from Boyle Investment Co.’s Meridian mixed-use development in Cool Springs.
