Men Trends for Spring: The Bow-tie and Pocket Square

bow-tie-imageOne of our Spring top trends for Men is the bow tie.  Across the country, newscasters, college students, cubicle dwellers and many other trendsetters have been joining in on Bow Tie Fridays. Multiple Facebook fan pages have been dedicated to this new dapper phenomenon, where users can post pictures of themselves wearing bow ties celebrating their creative versions of this classic style.

Along with the bow tie, is the rise of the pocket square.  Initially pocket squares came from the linen handkerchiefs used for personal hygiene. Handkerchiefs have been used for over 600 years. Today the pocket square is more of an accessory  providing another way to add color, texture and interest to your outfit.  It also draws the eye up giving a more slimming look just in case you eat too much at Easter Brunch.

Engage the Southern charm of the bowtie and pocket square for your Easter brunch this year.  If you  are in need some tutorials on how to tie a bowtie or fold a pocket square, here is a link to Southern Living YouTube videos.
