Meet Your Match with WCSC&AC

Williamson County Animal Control and Adoption Center has implemented the ASPCA’s Meet Your Match™ adoption program for evaluating the personalities of shelter puppies and dogs. Employees and senior volunteers at the shelter recently received comprehensive training in the Canine-ality™ Assessment program. Through testing the canine receives a personality category which is matched to a corresponding color placed in the animal’s kennel.

When you visit the shelter you can see how the dogs and puppies responded to testing to find a better match for your home. “Meet Your Match will help increase adoptions by objectively matching the personalities of dogs and owners. It offers a more tangible way of evaluating how a dog will fit into a household. Adopting a pet is a big commitment, and adoptive families all have different circumstances. Not every dog fits in every family, and not every family fits every dog,” said Doug Brightwell, Center Director.
Personality types like “busy bee” and “constant companion” help you understand the personality of your next family member. You can find out more by calling the center at (615) 790-5590.
