Meet The Darlins–Country Music’s Newest Duo

The Darlins

The Darlins, a Franklin duo who has everyone talking, has just released an EP titled Crush. The duo–Erinn Bates and Jude Toy–first met in Sephora and their friendship developed into a musical collaboration. Erinn was born and raised in Music City and Jude is from Oregon, but she likes Franklin so much, she has decided to call Franklin home.

We caught up with them just before they signed autographs at CMA Fest Fan Fair X. Their EP is available on their website. For a limited time, you can receive seven free songs by signing up for their newsletter.

How did The Darlins come about?

Erinn: I saw Jude play at the Bluebird Cafe and I thought she was amazing. But actually we met at Sephora in Green Hills believe it or not. We were both solo artists but we had heard about each other and how talented each other was. From there, we just  decided to start working together.

Why the name The Darlins?

Jude: My parents were huge Andy Griffin Show fans. In that show, there is the family the Darlins so I thought that would be a great name for a band and luckily Erinn agreed.

What is it like being at CMA Fest signing autographs?

We love our fans!  We are so excited to be here signing autographs and meeting everyone.

Tell us about your upcoming music video.

Our music video was so much fun. It was filmed in an old abandoned house in Franklin and we can’t wait for you to see it. If you follow us on Instagram, we will be releasing a sneak peek very soon.

What makes you a great pair?

Work ethic. Actually we are like sisters. We both have the same vision for what we want to do.

Thanks so much to The Darlins for taking time out to talk with us.  Follow The Darlins on Facebook for the latest updates and we may be seeing them very soon performing in Franklin.

Take a listen to their  song “Crush.”
