Mayor Anderson Provides Option for Alliance Volleyball Amid A-Game Dispute

Alliance Volleyball

Alliance Volleyball has been on the search for new spaces to practice and hold its league play after the sudden closure of A-Game Sportsplex last week.

Last Thursday, A-Game abruptly closed its doors and Alliance Volleyball has been unable to hold practices.  “I’ve had eleven year old  kids coming up to me crying asking am I going to be able to practice,” said Jeff Wismer, Alliance Volleyball Club Director. “But I’m not willing to give up on these kids.”

Saturday practices were on as scheduled at Harpeth Hall with the help of  a former Alliance Volleyball coach, but that was a temporary solution.

Today,Williamson County Mayor Roger Anderson provided an option for Alliance Volleyball by offering the Agricultural Center in Williamson County for training this week along with the previously scheduled President’s Day tournament.  “We appreciate Mayor Anderson’s desire to think outside of the box to help us with a solution to our problem,” said Jeff Wismer.

Beginning tonight, portable sport courts will be delivered to the Agricultural Center to be assembled by a team of over 50 parents and volunteers. The end result will be 7-8 volleyball courts just short of the typical 12 courts used at A-Game.

An offer from A-Game was presented to MDG Management and Alliance Volleyball to re-open the facility.  At this time, the offer is under consideration but no agreement has been met. When further updates arise,we will keep you informed here.
