Story Time:  No Story Time the first three weeks of May. Our regular 4 day-a-week Story Time schedule will resume in August. Our Summer Story Time will be on Wednesdays, starting with a special guest on Wednesday, May 27, at 10:00 a.m.

Baby Time: 9:15 a.m., Tuesdays through May 19. A lapsit program for babies up to 24 months and their caregivers. We will sing, clap, and bounce to nursery rhymes and songs for 15-20 minutes. No sign up necessary.

Join Misty’s Army/Teen Time: 3:30 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7 & 14. Help our new teen coordinator, Misty Bach, plan for summer reading. Make crafts, play games, do art projects, and more. Mischief managed.

Saturday Lego Club: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9. Monthly club for Lego lovers. We will read a story for inspiration, and then it’s creation time! Everyone welcome. Geared toward school-aged children. Legos provided by the Library. Creations will be put on display.

Quilt & Sewing Club:  12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 9.  Call the Dancing Bobbin for instructions and supplies. 931-486-2380.

Library Opens Late: 9:30 a.m., Wednesday,  May 13.  The Library will open late due to a staff meeting.

Favorite Reads Book Club:  11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 15.  Looking for a book club to join? Come and join in.

Homeschool Lego Club: 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 15. Legos provided. Come and build! Especially for Homeschoolers.

Chicks with Sticks:  10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturdays, May 2 & 16. Knitting club open to all.

Art Class with Glen David: 5:30 p.m., Monday, May 18.  Our artist of the month will show you how to make a sky background with acrylics.

Free Help with TennCare, CoverKids or HealthCare.gov : 1:30 – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 19.   Certified Application Counselors from Mercy Community Healthcare and Pathways to Health can help you navigate TennCare, CoverKids or HealthCare.gov. This is a FREE service. Counselors get paid through grants and are not associated with any health insurance company.

Home Buyers Workshop: 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 19.

Learn the “20 Questions You Need Answered Before Buying Your Next Home” and “The Top 20 Questions about Home Mortgages.” This is a public service seminar. Hear from those in the industry without any pressure to hire or use their services. 

Summer Reading Program: Mini Comic Con: 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22. Come enjoy our Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Event! Cosplay 101, Henna & Hair Chalking, Marvel’s Jacob Rougemont, The Buckle & Swash Show, Paulo Garbanzo, & The Queen from the TN Renaissance Festival, Food Trucks & Vendors, Crafts, The Balloon Man, Free Comic Books, Discussion Panel, Authors, & more! Guitar 101 by Firey Music:  Guitar 101 by Firey Music: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 23. Having trouble learning how to play your guitar? Bring it to the Library and Firey Music instructors will help you. From electric to acoustic, from any manufacturer, any and all guitars are welcome. You’ll learn tech tips on tuning and maintaining your guitar as well as the basic mechanics of your instrument. Instructors will be on hand to answer questions about one-on-one private in-store lessons and you will get a free evaluation of your instrument from Firey’s skilled guitar techs. This workshop is completely free and open to the public.  All you’ll need to do is bring your guitar with you to the class.

Home Organization & Time Management Workshop:  1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 23. Learn how to manage your time better, get great home organizing tips and product suggestions from Professional Organizer Tina Plitcha of Orderly Manner.

Library Closed:  Monday, May 25, Memorial Day.

Pokemon Club: 2:0 0 – 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 26.  Bring your DS to play or your cards to trade. No sign up necessary.

Summer Reading Program:  Story Time: 10:00 a.m., May 27. Story Time will be on Wednesdays only during the summer and our first special guest is Professor Greybeard and he brings his “Silly Science Show” for the very young future scientists! 3-7 year old’s will love this 30-40 minute program with Mega Hoberman Sphere, exciting chemical reactions,  bubbling potions,  and of course, EXPLOSIONS! Summer Reading Program: Beading Class for Teens:  6:00 – 8:30 p.m., Thursday, May 28. Learn how to make chain mail or bead jewelry with Heather Bennett.

Summer Reading Program: Bead a Gauntlet Kids Workshop: 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 29. A Summer Reading Brain Surge Program. Learn to bead a gauntlet to wear on your wrist. No sign up necessary. Supplies provided. Geared for grades K-5.
