Matt Fitterer to Run for Spring Hill Alderman in 2019

Matt Fitterer

Spring Hill resident Matt Fitterer has announced his candidacy for the 2019 Alderman seat in Spring Hill’s second ward. Fitterer will file his qualifying petition with the Maury County Board of Elections in late October and will appear on the ballot April 11, 2019.

“Spring Hill is a wonderful community, and I’m proud to call it my home. We are all blessed to live here, and as Alderman I’ll protect our community. There are opportunities for improvements that will benefit our quality of life.

We’ve taken some significant steps forward recently with the federal approval of a new interchange at I-65 & Buckner Rd, adoption of a corridor management agreement for Hwy. 31 with our neighboring communities, and passage of Spring Hill’s new Unified Development Code. Now’s the time to keep the momentum headed in the right direction and bring projects to fruition.

I am a problem solver. My full-time job demands that I find solutions to complex problems that benefit all individuals, develop best practices, and produce first-rate outcomes not just for today and tomorrow, but for years to come. I’m excited for the opportunity to serve Spring Hill and find solutions that will benefit our community.”

Fitterer is currently finishing his first term as Alderman. Fitterer has focused his attention on overhauling Spring Hill’s Comprehensive Plan, completely re-writing the City’s Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Regulations and facilitating infrastructure improvements. He pledges to continue this work.

“I recognize that we have a long way to go, and I’ll keep working to advance improvements. We have the right tools in place now; the UDC, the Hwy 31 CMA (corridor management agreement), interchange approval. We need to shift the focus towards project execution and culmination and securing necessary funding in a fiscally responsible manner.”

Fitterer is also focused on further improving communication between resident and City officials.

“I’ve worked hard to be transparent and share information on pending issues with the community. I’m looking forward to enhancing this area and further increase two-way communication between residents and local leaders.

It’s dawn in Spring Hill. Our best days are in front of us, and I am excited to provide the leadership we need to reach our collective goals”

Spring Hill resident Shane McNeill will serve as the campaign treasurer.

“I’m excited to have Shane as Campaign Treasurer. Shane has a lot of knowledge and passion for Spring Hill. Shane does an outstanding job as a member of the Transportation Advisory Committee”

In the private sector, Fitterer is an executive with Dura Medic; an Austin, TX based Healthcare Services firm. Dura Medic aids hospitals in the development of new services for improved patient care and cost reduction. Fitterer oversees hospital-based operations nationwide at over 225 facilities. Fitterer earned a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree from University of Illinois, both in healthcare-related fields. He also earned an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management.

Fitterer and his wife Joy, a Williamson County Schools teacher, reside in the Cameron Farms neighborhood with their newborn daughter.
