You Gotta See This: Martina McBride Cuts Her Hair in Video

Country superstar Martina McBride has spent the last several months in the studio, recording new music for her thirteenth studio album and her first for Big Machine Label Group imprint Nash Icon Records. While the full project is due out this spring, the video was released Thursday. It seems as if Martina is looking to change some things other than her label,if you watch closely she cuts her own hair in the video and if you have seen her lately she’s let go of those long locks for a shorter look.

The “Reckless” track was written by Sarah Buxton, Zach Crowell and Heather Morgan with producers Nathan Chapman and Dann Huff at the helm in studio. “Reckless” showcases Martina’s unmatched vocals as she belts out lyrics that mirror her own story of love’s saving grace.

“I was immediately drawn to this song. It’s really a song expressing gratitude to someone who is willing to reach out and see the best in you and loves you unconditionally,” states Martina. “I feel like its universal and that most everyone has someone who believed in them and maybe even pulled them through a hard time. I’ve heard people say it reminds them of their relationship with their mom or sister or counselor,” elaborates Martina.

Martina has sold over 18 million albums to date, including 20 Top 10 singles and six #1 hits, and earned more than 15 major music awards with four wins from the Country Music Association and three from the Academy of Country Music for Female Vocalist of the Year. Martina was awarded the Covenant House Beacon of Hope Award and Music Business Association’s prestigious 2015 Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award for her philanthropic efforts on behalf of domestic violence.

Continuingly evolving throughout her career, Martina has allowed herself to be creative in new ways from music to charity to writing her first book, Around the Table, a full-color illustrated collection of her favorite recipes, hosting tips, practical menu planning advice, and themed décor inspiration, released last year. Martina will bring her passion for family and music to helping Sarah Cannon to launch their national Band Against Cancer Campaign this year with special concerts in select markets.
