Mark Your Calendar for a Year of Activities in Franklin

It may only be the second week of January, but 2017 will be busy in Franklin with events, festivals, and the opportunity to enjoy this place we call home. So that you can plan ahead for the year, we’ve put together a list of activities.

Franklin Art Scene

Taking place the first Friday of each month in downtown Franklin. The free event celebrates Williamson County’s local craftsmanship and provides both the novice and the art connoisseur an opportunity to see a sweeping variety of magnificent work. Art crawl begins at 6 pm and ends at 9 pm where you can walk from site to site or take the free trolley.  Learn more about the Franklin Art Scene on their website. 

Main Street Brewfest
March 11

Brewfest will take place in downtown Franklin St Patricks’ Day weekend. So that your friends won’t be green with envy, make it an event to share as you walk down Main Street enjoying samples from the area’s craft brews. Brewfest is an opportunity for beer lovers to taste some of the latest local, national and international additions to an exploding micro-brewery market while exploring downtown Franklin’s historic retail district. Expect (lots) of beer, live music, food trucks, merriment and more. Brewfest takes place on March 11 from 5 pm – 8 pm. Ticket prices start at $45- $55  are on sale now here.

Main Street Festival
April 29-30

The Heritage Foundation’s Main Street Festival returns to downtown Franklin April 29-30, 2017. The free spring celebration, which is one of the largest events in the state of Tennessee, is expected to draw a crowd of about 120,000 for a fun-filled weekend of music, arts and crafts, food, and children’s activities.

O’More College of Design Fashion Show
May 12

O’More College of Design offers their best in the show featuring their fashion design students showcasing their designs. This year, the show will take place in the O’More Commons at the O’More College of Design campus located at 423 South Margin Street. Support the students and see first-hand the talent right here in Franklin on May 12th. Learn more about the event here. 

Seriously Seersucker
June 10

Now in its third year, Seriously Seersucker will kick-off seersucker season with a party at O’More College of Design on June 10th. Franklin resident and best-selling author, Robert Hicks, will lead the way for the seersucker season with an outstanding event that benefits a scholarship program for O’More College of Design.

Pilgrimage Festival
Sept 22-24

Now in its third year, Pilgrimage is also adding a third day to the music festival taking place at Harlinsdale Farm. What was started three years ago by Better than Ezra lead singer and Franklin resident, Kevin Griffin, Pilgrimage Festival has become a popular summertime music festival for locals and visitors. With guest artists like Sheryl Crow, Chris Stapleton, Weezer, and Jason Isbell, the event is one not to miss. Learn more about that event here. 

Pumpkinfest
Oct 28

Pumpkinfest is Middle Tennessee’s largest family fall festival that will return for its 34th year on October 28, 2017. With over 65,000 people in attendance, the festival stretches along Main Street in downtown Franklin, and its avenues, and offers tons of festive fun for families.

Dickens of Christmas
Dec 9-10

It’s the one time of the year you can count on snow, albeit fake. From the roasting of chestnuts to carolers singing, and others dressed in Victorian costumes, there’s a lot to see at this annual Downtown Franklin event taking place December 9-10.
