The Mapco at Highway 96 and Royal Oaks erupted into flames Monday afternoon around 4:30pm.
Franklin Police and firefighters responded to the blaze, which was contained to the back of the gas station.

No one was injured in the fire. Firefighters said the cause has not been determined, or whether the fire began on a tree and jumped to the building. Franklin Fire said that 2 engines, 2 towers, 1 ladder, 1 rescue truck and a chief’s truck responded.
UPDATE STR FIRE: Fire out, crews continue to check for extension/hidden fire. Investigation to begin shortly into cause.

The fire damaged the back of the building and its insulation.
