Man Jumps from Moving Vehicle During Police Stop

A Nashville man remains behind bars after jumping from a moving vehicle that a Franklin Police Department officer was attempting to stop and fleeing to a nearby restaurant.

The incident happened Monday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. on Bakers Bridge Avenue in Cool Springs.

According to a Police Department media release, officers caught up to Robert Lucas, 27, hiding in a stall in the women’s bathroom inside of Logan’s Roadhouse.

Police say Lucas became combative with officers in the bathroom, but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Lucas told officers that he went into the bathroom to inject heroin.

FPD officers found evidence that heroin had been in the stall with Lucas, who apparently had attempted to flush it down the toilet.

Lucas – charged with resisting stop/halt/frisk and tampering with evidence – is being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $7,000 bond.

He will appear in court Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. Lucas is a convicted felon on probation.
