On Saturday, Bike for Brett took place at CycleBar Franklin. The sold-out event brought 48 riders together to support the Brett Boyer Foundation. Many came dressed in bright colors and bumble-bee outfits (the foundation’s mascot). The head Bumble Bee, Thalas Steele of Steel Athletes who was instrumental in putting together the event, entertained the riders.
The Bike for Brett event came about has a way to honor Sadie Brett Boyer, niece of Caroline Bryan and country star Luke Bryan. Sadie, daughter of Ellen and Bo Boyer passed away in February of 2017. She was born with Down Syndrome and suffered from a congenital heart defect.
Previously we spoke to Ellen Boyer, mother of Sadie Boyer, who shared “We lost our daughter Brett to congenital heart disease in 2017. Brett also had Down Syndrome which we believe should be celebrated! We started the Brett Boyer Foundation in her honor to fund congenital heart disease and research and spread Down Syndrome awareness.”
After the ride was completed, Luke Bryan and Bryna Podwoiski were selected as the top two riders of the class. Those in attendance were also able to purchase Brett’s Barn merchandise. At the end of the day, it was all about remembering Sadie Brett Boyer and raising money for research. If you were unable to attend the event, a second Bike for Brett will be held in Georgia on March 10. Learn more here.
