LP Field Now Nissan Stadium

Titans Stadium Gets Name Change

Locals will have to get used to saying “Nissan Stadium” instead of “LP Field.”

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, the official announcement was made. Nashville’s LP Field will now be known as Nissan Stadium. The Titans and Nissan have signed off on a 20 year deal.

Kenneth Adams IV, Director of Public and Charitable Affairs for the Titans and the grandson of the late Bud Adams, made the big announcement, calling it a “landmark event.”

Nissan Stadium will host all Titans home football games, Tennessee State University football games, the Music City Bowl and a variety of concerts and numerous other events, including the annual CMA Music Festival and a U.S. Soccer match slated for July 3 of this year .

“Smart collaborations create bold opportunities,” Nashville Mayor Karl Dean said. He commended Nissan, saying they have the “best made, most innovative cars.”

The Nissan plant in Spring Hill opened 32 years ago, making it the largest plant in North America, employing over 11,000 locals. Mayor Dean said this along with their work with numerous community organizations makes them not only a great company but also a “wonderful civic partner.”

“We owe a great deal to the city’s iconic landmarks like this stadium,” he added.
